Software for Rectifying Photographs and Videos

Rect41 01Photographs and videos oblique to a surface are transformated into a plan view like a map. Scanners and digital cameras can be used directly from within the program so the rectification of any kind of picture is possible Distances can be measured true to scale and true to angle. Up to 10 different reference lengths can be used for rectification. All camera parameters (like camera inclination, rotation, focal length and camera height) are calculated in an optimization process using the reference lengths. A drawing program to make road sketches and an accident scene description is included.

  • Single-Image Rectification: Enhanced File Support - Import and export scanned photos and rectified images in all standard bitmap formats, including GIF, TIFF, JPEG, BMP, PCX, EPS, and Photo CD.
  • Multi-Image Linking: PC-Rect enables the linking of multiple images using shared control points.
  • Lens Correction: Distortions that typically occur at low focal lengths can be effectively compensated for using the lens correction feature in PC-Rect.
  • Luminance Analysis Requirements: Camera calibration is required to execute a luminance calculation, enabling PC-Rect to automatically convert image data into a luminance map via calibration files and evaluate visibility.
  • Automated Panorama Generation: The system automatically combines several individual images into a comprehensive panoramic image.
  • Video Rectification Workflow: To rectify a video, the sequence must be extracted into sequentially numbered individual frames, followed by selecting a baseline frame where the reference dimensions are specified.
  • Integrated Diagramming Functionality: The software features an integrated drawing tool designed specifically for generating road diagrams and documented accident scene descriptions.

  • Multi-Image Rectification via Mesh Grids: This feature enables multi-image rectification using a mesh layout with a capacity of two meshes per image, combined with automated target recognition via AprilTags.

  • Focus Stacking Functionality: This feature allows the merging of multiple macro photographs to create a single composite image with extended depth of field across the entire scene.
