Indoor Tests

 

The DSD test laboratory is equipped with a modern 2MN Hyper-G catapult system as well as with a unique, controlled intrusion system.

DSD provides a flexible test service beginning at executing the tests, about engineering and preparation of test setups, up to the entire logistic processing of serial monitoring.

In addition to the tests mentioned below the DSD lab runs a lot of other tests. The DSD crew is quite small  but highly motivated and this combination guarantees a very high flexibility.
Even for non standard tests DSD is able to provide sophisticated solutions and if necessary the experienced team helps to develop special tests to figure out the asked informations.

Both the free motion headform system and the pedestrian protection system (lower leg and hip) are based on a pneumatic, force-free acceleration device, which can be mounted on a relatively small industrial robot.

The test rigs are mobile, tests can also be performed directly on-site.

 

Advanced Side Impact System (ASIS) is situated on the sled of HyperG and can be equipped with up to 4 cylinders. This allows up to 4 simultaneously intrusions to obtain very realistic side crash scenarios.

The system is designed to deliver informative results about quality of door panel, airbag, foams, plastics and other parts of the inner cabin of a car which are relevant for the occupant’s safety.

Caused by the great number of rear end impact tests DSD has a big experience with such tests and therefore is involved in many developing projects on this theme.
Several kinds of active and non active head restraint systems have been tested in the DSD test lab.
The tests are performed on our HyperG crash sled facility. 

 

Rear Impact Tests - FMVSS 202a

Dummies: H3 50%, HP-Manikin Instrumentation: Standard instrumentation H3 50% Video: The test is recorded by 2 on board high speed cameras. Recording rate is 1000 pictures per second.

Whiplash Tests - EURO NCAP (Low Severity, Mid Severity, High Severity)

Dummies: BioRID, HP-Manikin + HRMD (Gloria measured) Instrumentation: Standard instrumentation BioRID (Lumbar Load Cell on request) Video: The test is recorded by 2 on board high speed cameras. Recording rate is 1000 pictures per second.

Rear Impact Tests - Real , Generated and Standard Pulses

Dummies: H3 5%, 50% or 95% Dummy, HP-Manikin Instrumentation: Standard instrumentation H3 5%, 50% / H3 95% Video: The test is recorded by 4 on board high speed cameras. Recording rate is 1000 pictures per second.
